Feel free to post your creations or link to them on this forum. We're pretty eager to see what cool ideas people have and how people are using the API. Edited by user Thursday, August 25, 2011 2:44:16 PM(UTC)

I made a Mac OS X Dashboard widget called CU Buses, which displays departures at a given stop.

Your widget looks great! I thought it looked very slick and it was easy to use. I did notice that you are directing people to the cumtd.com website to look up stop codes. This is fine, but I wanted to make sure you knew that you can actually do this with the API by requesting a list of stops using stops.getList and searching through them. The list of stops is not something that changes frequently so I would request it and store it locally then use the RSS feed to keep track of when the stops are updated. Once again everything looks great! Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to you. We had a little trouble finding a Mac to try your widget out on...

Thanks Ryan! Yes, I did know about that API call, but a search-for-your-stop feature was more work than I would have liked for this version. Maybe I'll add that in a later version!

Maurice, your app works great! I've actually had it on my phone for a couple months now and I think it works really well. The alarm feature is really useful.
The only thing I've seen so far that seems weird is the search results. I just did a search for "green" and Illini Union was my first result.

Oh that was a bug in the code in my "proxy" server. I am working on fixing that and update it soon. Thanks for pointing it out!

I created a ruby gem to interact with the API. I haven't really documented it yet, so if you have any issues or concerns, set one up on github, or email me directly. The source is at http://github.com/bjackson/cumtd You can install it simply by "gem install cumtd."

I'm not a ruby guy, but I poked around your source and it looks like a really solid library. I'm sure some other ruby devs will find this helpful.
Out of curiosity, are you planning to use this yourself in a project?
